Class 9: Parallel Design

Tonight we made a parallel design, which simply means that there are lines of flowers with space in between.
We used two lines, but parallel designs can have as many lines as one can fit or want in their design.

New Year, New Classes

Happy New Year! I recently signed up to obtain a certificate in Floral Design at the Rittners School of Floral Design in Boston. The class meets twice a week for the next 12 weeks, so I will have a lot to post over the next few months. Last night was our first class, in which we focused on "The Round Mound" aka "The Roundy Moundy" ha. This is a very common centerpiece often sold at florist shops and online.

This arrangement features cushion poms, carnations, mini carnations, statice (purple filler), and baker fern (greens). The pictures look a little different because I took the first one at class in case it didn't survive the commute home on the T!
